Anthropic, the American artificial intelligence company behind the Claude chatbot, announced Thursday that it has raised $65 billion in Series H funding, pushing its post-money valuation to $965 billion.
The massive round was led by Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer Investment Group, Greenoaks, and Sequoia Capital, with significant participation from a broad group of top-tier investors including Capital Group, Coatue, D1 Capital Partners, GIC, ICONIQ, XN, Blackstone, Fidelity, T. Rowe Price, Temasek, and others.
The funding comes as Anthropic experiences explosive growth. The company said its annualized run-rate revenue has surpassed $47 billion, driven by widespread enterprise adoption of Claude across industries. Global enterprises are increasingly integrating Claude into core operations, while millions of individuals use it for daily work.
“This funding will help us serve historic demand, advance our safety and interpretability research, expand our compute infrastructure, and scale the products our customers rely on,” said Krishna Rao, Chief Financial Officer of Anthropic.
The round also includes $15 billion in previously committed capital from hyperscalers, including $5 billion from Amazon. Strategic infrastructure partners Micron, Samsung, and SK hynix are also participating to support Anthropic’s growing compute needs.
In recent weeks, Anthropic has significantly expanded its infrastructure through major agreements, including up to five gigawatts of new capacity with Amazon, five gigawatts of next-generation TPU capacity with Google and Broadcom, and access to GPU capacity on SpaceX’s Colossus superclusters. Claude is now the first frontier AI model available on all three major cloud platforms: Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.
“Claude is increasingly indispensable to our growing global community of customers,” Rao added. “This funding positions us to continue pushing the frontier of AI while delivering more powerful and adaptable tools.”
Investors expressed strong confidence in Anthropic’s trajectory.
“Anthropic is helping pull forward the future, as intelligence becomes an increasingly critical ingredient to the way businesses operate,” said Marc Stad, Managing Partner at Dragoneer.
Alfred Lin, Partner at Sequoia Capital, added: “Startups and Global 5000 companies alike are deploying Claude to handle complex workflows. Anthropic is building the bridge between where enterprise AI stands today and where it’s headed.”
The funding round highlights the enormous capital flowing into the artificial intelligence sector as companies race to develop and deploy more advanced models while scaling infrastructure to meet surging demand.
